Where it all started

25 May 2024

Menswear fashion wasn't enough to make the co-founders excited about buying new clothing. They had to look extensively at times, sometimes internationally. This sparked the idea that instead of continuously going store to store to pick up something that you eventually settle on, why not make our own clothing. This was the day that started the idea, one co-founder pushing the other to begin this beautiful journey together.

The Name

15 July 2024

This was the day that the 'NewObra' name was made. The name is a mix between English and Spanish. The Spanish side was a testament to our love of the language and Latin culture. The meaning behind the name is creating something new by using art and fashion together, Obra de Arte (Work of Art) as such, it's a piece of art that you carry.

The ever long search

July 2024 - March 2025

The constant search for a garment manufacturer. After almost a year of constant meetings and calls, 6 countries later and we had finally found an incredible manufacturer we could see a lasting business relationship with. The key areas for us were; ethically sourced material and workplace practices, responsiveness in communications and of course the quality in the garments that NewObra strives for.

The search continues

March 2025 - June 2026

The search for a manufacturer may have been over but the search for a printing service was only beginning. The garments and materials were needed in order to agree on the best printing service for us. Printers were tested in Europe and in Australia (due to the great separation of the co-founders). Then came the embroidery which is all done in-house.

Launch Day

20 Sep 2026

This date represents the beginning of NewObra officially trading. The launch occurred with friends and family who are now along this journey with us. You are all invited to join us in pushing fashion designs and creativity to new areas and levels.
